Rev. Dr. Deborah A. Dennis

Rev. Dr. Deborah Dennis accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior on February 11, 1960. She acknowledged her calling into the preaching ministry on February 26, 1989, and was licensed to preach on September 23, 1990, by the Mt. Period Missionary Baptist Church where she served for over 26 years in the Evangelism, Deaconess, Music, and Teaching Ministries. She also served as the Director of Baptist Training Union, Sunday Church School Teacher, Choir Director, and Director of Vacation Bible School.

Rev. Dr. Dennis united with the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church on Sunday, September 5, 1997, under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Charles E. Booth, and officially joined the staff of Mt. Olivet in April, 2001, as the Minister of Christian Education.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Cross Disciplinary Studies from the Ohio Dominican College, obtained a Master of Christian Education degree from Ashland Theological Seminary in 1999, and was ordained to preach in July, 1999. Rev. Dennis retired from Ameritech Telephone Company in March, 2001, after 30 years of service. She graduated, receiving her Doctor of Ministry Degree in Transformational Leadership from the Ashland Theological Seminary on June 2, 2007.

Upon graduation, Rev. Dr. Deborah Dennis served on the Columbus ATS Advisory Board, ATS Doctor of Ministry Advisor, and as an adjunct professor at ATS. Dr. Dennis serves as Professional Associate at United Theological Seminary. She also serves as the E.U.M.B.A. Dean of the Congress of Christian Education.

Rev. Dennis has served the community as a volunteer for the Cancer Society, Leukemia Society, and Heart Fund. She has conducted workshops on Evangelism, Christian Education Leaders and Teachers, Discipleship, Single Parenting, Stewardship, Praise and Worship, and Women and their various roles in the Modern Church.

Rev. Dennis is a woman who loves God, her family, people, and her call to the Ministry. She is striving to proclaim Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord to every man, woman, boy and girl, to persuade them to be His disciples and productive members of His Church. Moreover, she has committed her life to the spiritual growth of people of all ages. “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14)
